White painless growths at the base of the head of penis

White painless growths at the base of the head of penis

Hey,

I've noticed a while ago that some white patches have developed where the foreskin and head of the penis meet. These patches are slightly raised and do not come off when washed. It's spread a bit since I noticed it. I've ruled out STDs due to a lack of sexual contact.

It's painless and doesn't cause any inconvenience, it's just a tad disturbing having raised white growths on my penis

Any help figuring out what it is or what I can do about it would be helpful.

Thanks,

Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be folliculitis, contact dermatitis, rash due to friction rub with clothes, dermatitis (atopic, contact, allergic),excessive sweating causing sweat dermatitis or balanitis(due to an underlying infection (bacterial and fungal as well as other organisms) .Even genital warts cannot be ruled out.

You may try calamine lotion on the rash. You should also maintain hygiene and try to keep the area clean and dry, wear loose-fitting cotton clothing. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. You can also use a barrier cream with zinc oxide paste or calamine lotion or a mild steroid cream like dermacort on the rash. If the bumps are itchy, you  can take some antihistaminic like benadryl or Claritin.

If the lumps persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.Genital warts have to be ruled out.

I hope that helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or in case you have additional queries. Kind regards.

They're not itchy, they're not painful, they're just kind of there.

Would that lower the spectrum of things it may be?

From the description of the rashes,it can be a fungal infection, yeast infection, balanitis or balanitis. It is difficult confirming diagnosis without examination. So a consultation of a dermatologist will be the best.
