White scars on dark-skinned child

I have a dark-skinned bi-racial, 6-year-old daughter who gets white marks on her skin every time she gets a scratch. A pet rabit scratched her legs and she had horrible white scratch marks (scars) there for months and months. A bad pinch by a carseat buckle when she was one has left a quarter-sized, permanent white mark on her stomach. A two-year old scratch on her face is still visible. All but the one on her stomach eventally fade, for the most part. But can anyone offer suggestions to help her repigment more quickly, or a product that could help? I hate to see her beautiful brown skinned always marred up from the smallest scratches.

Hi,
After the skin has been subjected to an irritant, the body mounts an "inflammatory response" with movement of white blood cells and other cells into the area, to repair any damaged tissue.
When irritation and inflammation has subsided, pigment may have been lost from the skin if the pigment-containing cells (melanocytes) are damaged or destroyed.
This can leave an area of skin with less pigment than normal (i.e., hypopigmentation).

There are creams available OTC which claims to help in repigmentation but their efficacy is not proven. With sun exposure the white areas should eventually repigment unless scarring has occurred.
