White spots on my upper lip (mouth)

Hi,

A few months ago, I noticed a very weird white spot on my upper lip. A bit later, it spread to the right side of my lip and I can clearly see some small white dots.

A bit later, I got a small button that formed and it left a small white mark.

I was wondering what this was and what I should do. Thank you very much.

Here is a pic to assist what I am saying :

Thank you very much for your reply, it is much appreciated.

I have an history of oral herpes (or cold sore?) and I have a sore that used to pop every 6 months, I would use cream, it would disappear without a mark. Oddly enough, I haven't have a trace of oral herpes since two years now (since I saw the very first sign of this, should have said) which is very odd.

I have never taken steroid or even drugs (!), only alcohol, low consumption. I also eat very well (vegetables + grain, follow norms) but perhaps I miss some vitamins, I don't know :) I've never done anything stupid and never even got in a fight.

These white marks do not seem to go away :(

Thanks for your help. See pic above. :D

hi,

there may be many causes of this condition you mentioned. this may be due to vitamin deficiencies, allergies, steroid use leading to peri-oral dermatitis, herpes simplex etc..

each of these is a distinct clinical entity and therefore needs thorough examination.

Do you have any allergies/senstivities to any substances? Have you had similar events earlier? Did you have any fever or cough at the time of the spots? Dis you use any steroid preparations at the time?

We would like to know more about you through these questions and any other information that you may have for us.

At this time, you should keep the area clean and moisturized. You may also use lip protective creams and lotions. Further, you may also take Multivitamin tablets to help you with vitamin deficiencies, if any.

Let me know if you may need any more information/help
