Worried about skin

by sfsudysnomia, Oct 05, 2006 12:00AM
Over the last couple of weeks, I have noticed a rash of some kind on my body. More specificically, it has targeted my Arms (my left seems to be more targeted), my shoulders, and my lower back. The rash is red and slightly rasied, but overall flat with irregular borders. They dissappear as quickly as they come, after I have put on benedyl cream. I also was perscribed claritin to help with them. They do not itch, but I am getting sick and tired of them. Could you let me know what they might be? I am worried that it is something internal like HIV.

Scroll dwn to 10/1 posted 'Red Bumps..'by leesy. May give some
help. Zyrtec is a time release low dose form of Atarax for hives
& other allergies. It's not contact dermatitis if it's more one
sided on body. Might consider a Dr. appt or go to clinic since
it's weekend approaching. An injested product causing rash can
be going on inside so go for help if throat starts itching or
swelling off/on. Benadryl stops the itch/stops the inflame-
response/spots will return quickly if it is hives.

I went to the doctor. He beleives that it was either stress related or diet related. I was given a perscription for Zyrtec, but my insurance did not cover it and so I was told that clairitin. I cut out (food wise) what I thought was the culprit. I have seen a decrease in the bumps. But I think that it may be dry skin. I have noticed that after taking a shower, I notice bumps where there were not any before the shower. I also learned that my sister experienced the same thing a while back.

Glad to hear you're doing better. I played Sherlock after having
many allergy tests that came up zip. Turns out I acquired an
allergy to red-dye 40, an additive. Most tests don't test for
additives. Ate a big bowl of red jello one day & was off to get
to ER fast. I have tolerance for small amount but the bowl was
over-kill. Hope Claritan works. If not, the Atarax is avail. in
low dose cheap generic. Gd-luck
