Yeast or Warts?

Yeast or Warts?

Dear Doctor,

I think my question is similar to one I read on a forum in 2005. About a year ago I received a penile yeast infection, and also at this time noticed that small white/pink raised dots below the back of the head of the penis became irritated and clustered up (slightly more raised and cloudy). After applying some Clotrimozol it seemed to go away, but there still remain three distinct slightly raised dots (quite small, but raised). Since that time I've actually found myself sneezing after drinking a single beer, and recently the thought occurred to me that perhaps I still have a yeast infection somehow.

So I have two questions:

1) Do yeast commonly form in this area besides within the urethra, and is it possible that I didn't apply Clotrimozol long enough?

2) Is there any relationship between visual fungus (perhaps penile yeast or athletes foot) and a yeast allergy or prolonged yeast infection?

Thanks for your help - I know an STD check is long overdue.

Answers are:

1. Yes, genital fungal/yeast infection can affect any area. If you are not certain whether or not your infection is cured, a simple culture of lately not treated skin should be able to provide the answer.

2. Patients with established respiratory allergies could potentially develop additional one on a yeast such as Candida albicans. Still, those patients do not necessarily have skin infection.
