Have you had your liver function tested? If there is a bile duct problem the first sign is itchy skin with no obvious irritant. Seriously get this looked at.

Hi,
I have the same problem as Lilfaye. One moment both my hands will itch like they will drive me mad and fifteen minutes later it'll end, but then another part of my body (today being my fee) will start itching with the same intensity. It's not hives because there is no rash. This itch comes from well below the skin level and creams do not help me either. Someone, somewhere should be able to diagnose this correctly, or perhaps do some research at a medical level.

Did you find out what caused that traveling itch all over your body? I have that now. No rush, just itch. What did you take for that?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
These symptoms are suggestive of hives. Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They have a tendency to change size rapidly and to move around, disappearing in one place and reappearing in other places, often in a matter of hours.

You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.

For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid. But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Having the same problem, done all kinds of tests. not much helps. I went to a neurologist, he gave me a perscription to Gabapentin, which helps a little...meaning I don't feel like just shooting myself. Still cant find out what it is. No rash...the doctors or lists keep trying to tell about things that come with a rash. Does it make you as angry as it does me?
Hands will itch and burn like crasy, 15 or 20 minutes later, it eases off. an hour later it will be my feet, always for feet and hads it is BOTH. Maybe next will be my lower back, or shoulders and neck, or total scalp...never face, it does turn red when I scrat, and if I scratch long enough it gets a tiny rash, on occasion there will be a cluster of tiney perfectlt round white spots, no raiseed going away in a couple minutes...
