It was dark and the borders were not defined as well as a 'normal mole'
The doctor's office called and said the result of the biopsy was that they were abnormal cells. I asked if it was cancer and she said no. They are going to bring me in next week and get cleaner margins to be sure.
I do not have a strong history of skin disorders in the family.
I am curious how it went for you. I had an abnormal mole - the derm just called me today. She said that she will excise it next week to get clear margins. I too asked her if it was cancer and she gave me a definate "no" which was a relief but the whole thing is still very confusing.
Is it just a preventative thing like they do with polyps in your colon (to prevent colon cancer)?
Any more info you learned would be very helpful as the dermatologist seems to be getting annoyed with me.
Would you be able to describe the mole's appearance and character prior to the surgery?
Do you have other moles in the body of similar presentation?
Any histopath or biopsy results done?
Just to clarify, you mentioned that the mole is tiny. If this is the case what was the physician's indication for removing the mole?
Any strong history of skin disorders in the family ?
I will be expecting your answers.
