all 10 fingernails detached

All 10 of my fingernails are detached from the nail bed. It started 12 years ago with one nail and then over the years spread to recently now all 10! and two toes! The nail bed underneath is white and cakey and sometimes smells like parmasaen cheese or stinky feet!! There is no discolorazation. I went to a dermotologist who speacializes in nail disorders- she thought I has a fungus and put me on Lamasil. The results came back negative for fungus and yeast. I am disappointed because I feel no hope now. The Dr wants me to continue on the Lamasil for the 3 months period to see if there is any improvement. While on the medicine two toes are also getting the same condition. She also has me on ciprox cream. Any idea of what this might be? In the winter I get cracks on the edge of the nail that are painful!

Such condition is seen in Fungal infections as well as Psoriasis.
The doctor is probably doing the right thing by giving you both antifungal and psoriasis(ciprox) treatment.
The results of the fungal test may come negative inspite of a fungal infection.
I would like to say that you may keep some faith and let this course of treatment finish before making any other decisions.
