, and around the nostrils for about 20 years. It started with my first pregnancy. At times it is red, hot, itchy and oozy. It will heal a little and peel, then the oozing starts again. I have tried benydril, ivy dry-it helps some, creams, steroids, you name it.
No doctor I've seen knows what it is. I have a freind who thinks it is hormone related. I think it has something to do with a food allergy. I am sensitive to dairy. Anyone have any ideas?
Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be eczema or perioral dermatitis. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction
('***** Testing' or 'Scratch Testing'), Patch tests (by applying a patch to the skin, where the patch contains the allergen.)And RAST.
Treatment includes avoidance of the allergen, oral antihistaminics; topical application of corticosteroids. You may try application of calamine on the affected site. It may work by soothing the skin. Also keep your skin moisturized by applying plenty of fragrance free moisturizers.
Pls seek an appointment with a dermatologist for your complete examination and for figuring out the allergen to which you have allergy. Also get a skin biopsy done to confirm the diagnosis.
I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
