another question about herpes..

by reasuremeplease, Apr 27, 2004 12:00AM
this morning i wanted to see what would happen if i picked one of the bumps on my left inner thigh with a sterile needle to see what would come out. well nothing but alittle blood came out and no puss also its kinda hard, not really like a soft white head pimple. there was no pain when i stuck it. again i have about 7 total bumps spread around my mid section area 2 on left scrotum and 2 on right of the base of penis at the hair line of scrotum which are alot smaller than the one i picked at. i put some neosporen on the bums to see if it helps. is there any kind of pain with herpes and the bumps associated with it? and from me touching these and touching other body parts is there a chance of it spreading if it is herpes? i have looked at alot of pictures of herpes on the net which really doesnt appear to look like wat i have but i still wonder. is there a site that some one could give that has alot of pictures of other skin disorders  that i can comepare what i have. also doc would you happen to have an email address i could shot a picture of what i have to ya? i figured i would ask.any way this site is very helpful and greatly appreciated. thx

Herpes clusters in one place, not all over the groin.  These are probably blocked hair follicles.  You can't spread those, but they often appear in different areas for no special reason.  It's best not to squeeze or pop them.  Just put some bacitracin or other antibiotic cream on them, leave them alone, and see a doctor for definitive diagnosis.  Here's a good website for herpes information: http://www.dermnetnz.org/

Best.
