on my back and chest. I don't want to repeate myself! Anyways because I was really ill when I took a pill called Minocycline my doctor said if I wanted to when I am feeling better I could try Tetracycline. I dont' know if it was the medicaton or if it was the flu
. The doctor didn't want to risk me getting sick again incase it was the pills. I had only taken one of these bugger! So he said I could try something else
Anyways has anyone tried Tetracycline for acne or body acne. Body acne is what I think I have but don't know? If so how did it work for you? Would be interested in anyones story
I belive tertracycline is in the same class as zythromax which is also used to treat acne.
I was on zythromax for skin lesions that had nothing to do with acne but my face
my 16 yo son was prescribed tetracycline for acne, 500 mgs twice a day for 2 months. he was also prescribed retin-a & a prescription antibacterial cream. the tetracycline helped a lot, but when he stopped cold turkey, it started to come back. the trick was to slowwwlllly wean off of it. from 1000 mgs per day to 750 for two weeks, to 500 for two weeks, to 250 for two weeks then down to 150 for two weeks. this worked and the acne hasnt come back. he had no side affects like nausea, but was extra sensitive to the sun
When I was a kid I was doing retin-a but it went OTC so I couldn't get a perscription anymore. And OTC was very spendy! Something about this retin-a being an anti-aging cream. Sure would be nice to have some now. I have adult acne AND aging
