armpit rash

I get this rash every now and then under my armpit. I play sports and I do sweat. I am only a type I diabetic. This rash looks like it could be a little bit of acne and a rash combined. I have put 1% cortizone creme on, I have washed it with proactive and I am not sure if it is getting better. I also use Johnson's baby power. Can you please recommend something else I should try. Also do you know of a good deodorant I should be using? I think I like the spray on since it causes the least amount of bacteria spread.

It can be sweat dermatitis causing irritation of the hair follicles or hidradenitis suppurativa. Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Also change your clothes twice daily and do not apply any creamy deodorant.
If the symptoms persist then please get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
