MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Since the soires are red, inflamed and oozing, so definitely it looks like a bacterial infection and the doctor is right in prescribing antibiotics. You can also get a culture sensitivity of the sore done and then specific antibiotics( topical and oral) can be prescribed.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Just a friendly comment.  I have a condition which forces me to put bandaids on my sensative face.  Sometimes the adhesion on the bandaid would seem to casue the same problems.  I would get an outline in the shape of the ahesive part that often was rashed or very irritated(red).  I've used many different types of bandaids over the years and have found that some just use an adhesive that is ALOT more irritable to sensative skin.  I think that is all it is.  An irritation caused by the adhesive.  My sensative skin seems to be least irritated by the Curad "Classic Care" flexible fabric.  I tried the supposed "Comfort Care" version but it seemed to cause the same irritation
