birthmark skin changes

I am experiencing extreme itching of my pubic area. It first started as a pimple over my birthmark which is a patch of darker skin on my mons and labia majora (external labia). When the pimple had what looked like a mushroom but flat. By the time I went to see my Dr. it had dried up and fell off. My Dr examined my pubic area and said there was nothing to be concern about. The itching subsided for a while after I had the hair removed. But after 4 months the itching is back but worst it feels like the skin firms up right before the itching starts. Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the symptoms it can be dermatitis skin, contact dermatitis or eczema. But if the birthmark itself is itchy then it needs to be examined by a dermatologist. Till then , keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical calamine is very helpful.Application of mild steroid cream also helps. For the itching please take some over the counter antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin. In case the symptoms persist then consult a dermatologist in that case.
