black area

Around ten days before i got the laser , just to remove the hairs from face. One side of my face got first very red and now is extreamly black.The hairs are still there. The therapist says that the blackness and hairs will go after three weeks. I am worried. Is that true? my complextion is light brown and i got very senstive skin. Please help me to get rid of black area.

Hyperpigmentation and redness after laser treatment is usual side effect of this treatment. Avoid using any lotions and creams over the face for the meantime. Wash your face with a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Pat your face dry. Then apply a good hypoallergenic moisturizer over the area. If the symptoms persist after 4 weeks also, then please consult a dermatologist as post inflammatory hyperpigmentation has to be ruled out.
