black bump in pubic region

I had a bump that protruded and was skin colored but then had a black tip in the pubic hair. The skin on it was smooth not rough like a scab.  Later that night it had turned red and decreased in size.  Managed to get to medical office the next day, only nurse was available and she said it looked like ingrown hair.  A couple days later it is black again, and there is 2 or 3 more black spots beside it.  It is not painful unless you are squeezing it,  doesn't appear to be fluid filled.  Does this sound like a ingrown hair or could it be something else and if so what?

Hello,
It can be a sebaceous cyst as well. Blocked sebaceous glands, swollen hair follicles and excessive testosterone production will cause such cysts.

Generally no treatment is required but they become painful then it means they are infected,Then surgical excision by traditional wide excision, minimal excision, and punch biopsy excision may be required.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.

Just to note, the entire bump is black.  the area is not red around it that I can tell. It does NOT look like a pimple bump.
