black mole removed

black mole removed

Hello everyone, I guess I am looking for a little reassurance. I had a small 1-2mm black colored mole removed 2 days ago. I can't remember how long it has been there. A while I think. I went ahead and had it removed just because it was black. None of my other moles are black though some are darker than others. I have dark hair and eyes. My skin is kind of an olive color. The mole had not grown or changed that I could tell. My problem is that I am now worried to death that it could be melanoma. Any comforting words would be much appreciated while I wait for the biopsy results.

Hello,
It is not compulsory that a mole is brown in color. It can be a black mole also which is normally found in many individuals. It does not sound like a melanoma.
Melanoma has an irregular border, is asymmetrical, uneven color and increasing in size. If you notice changes in the mole's/mark’s color, height, size or shape, you should have a dermatologist evaluate it. You also should have it checked if it bleeds, oozes, itches, appear scaly, or become tender or painful. Otherwise it should be left as such.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
