black rings around neck

I have black rings around my neck. I've been told by many that it could be fungus. What could it be?

Do you wear neclaces?  if a person drinks too many sodas or acidic drinks wearing jewelry can cause a reaction that leaves a black ring where the jewelry touches/rubs.

And you can go to a dermatologist for a skin test to see if it is a fungus. if it is a fungus it may be possible to spread it to other areas of your body.

These rings can be due to acanthosis nigricans. Acanthosis nigricans presents as symmetrical, hyperpigmented, velvety plaques mostly in the folds of skin. It is not itchy and is characterized by hyperpigmentation. My sincere advice is to consult a dermatologist. The other possibility is of Addison’s disease.
