Hope you are feeling much better now.

Keep a note of those antibiotics that they were making you feel sick.
In the event that you would need an appointment with a doctor, you will need to tell the doctor that those antibiotics are agree with you and that you had an allergic reaction to it.

You should not feel stupid.
As you were  in severe pain and did not know what the cause is, you did the right thing in going and getting checked out.

It is good that it is your period and nothing more serious.

As your period has now come, but you did not have one for 4 months, you still need to make an appointment to see your doctor.  So all that back pain was due to your period coming.  You know that now, but what if the menstrual cycle had not come?  There are many things that can cause back pain.

Are you OK with eating now or still having the problem about keeping your food down?  Did the ER say what that may be caused by?

Keep a written record of our periods (as no doubt you do)  and write down how you feel.  This will be useful information for the doctor.

The late periods may be caused by low iron levels, hormone levels, polycystic ovaries or other problems.  If this is the first time that you have missed 4 menstrual cycles, keep a record and see if your menstrual cycles are still not regular.  If not, it would be a good idea to see the doctor to get some blood tests done and an ultrasound scan.

Take care.
Best wishes.

Contact your doctor as the symptoms that you are having now may be a reaction to the antibiotic.

Normally you would need to finish the whole course even if you feel better.  But as you have got much worse you should book in to see your doctor urgently - about your new symptoms and whether you need to finish the course of antibiotics.

Keeping drinking water or diluted fruit squash, but only take small swigs at a time.

It is not important that you do not eat for a few days.  Important thing is that you keep hydrated.

For the pain, you can taken normal pain relief medication as directed on the packet (not Ibuprofen) just a small dose if you are able to hold it down.

As you have not had a period for months, it may be a pregnancy, a kidney stone, or other problem.

Make a very urgent appointment to see your doctor.
If things are severe, go to the ER.

The white cells mean that you have an infection.

I am glad that you went to see your doctor and no doubt he gave you an antibiotic to treat the infection.

Make sure that you drink plenty of water.  2 litres a day is usually recommended, more if you sweat a lot.

You can also take pain relief medication for you pains, but do take them as directed on the packet.

Antibiotics can cause yeast growth, so if you do start to feel itchy down below that could indicate a fungal infection.  Your doctor can prescribe an antifungal cream to apply on the skin or capsules to take by mouth.  You can also purchase these without a prescription from the pharmacy.

I hope too that you mentioned that you have not had a menstrual cycle for months.  That too needs looking into.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

The pains may be from the kidneys or from the ovaries.

With polycystic ovaries your can miss months of periods.  Being anaemic can cause missed periods as well as excessive deiting.

Make an appointment to see your doctor.
You may need an antibiotic if you have a kidney or ovary infection.

The doctor may do other tests to find out why you have missed several months of periods.

Yes, you do need to book to see your doctor and do this urgently.

Let me know how you get on.

Best wishes.
