blister/lesions on fingertips

Occasionally, I develop what appear to be small red bumps on my fingertips. They are painful. The bump will be dark red, then a few will develop a whitish center (the center is NOT raised or pimple-like). These blister-like bumps are only painful and do not itch. I am using the term "blister", however, the bumps are not clear or fluid filled.I am not taking any type medications. This has happened twice before.

Hi,

This may be due to a localized bacterial infection,dishydrotic eczema,an HSV type 1 infection, an allergic reaction. I suggest you seek consult with your primary physician since you may need oral antibiotics for your condition. Apply a cool compress over the areas to help relieve the pain.Do not pick on them and use a mild bland soap to wash your hands.
