blisters on feet that turn into flat red spots

blisters on feet that turn into flat red spots

For over a year now, I have what starts as a deep itching sensation on the inside and bottoms of my feet and big toes, then turning into blisters, then finally turning into a dark red, flat, perfectly round spot. Sometimes, there are multiple blisters, and at other times, they are individual. I've been to a Dermatologist - treated as Eczema with an antibiotic and tar creme. (Did not help at all) I went the natural route, was told it could be Candida - took mega doses of Probiotics. (Seemed to help a little, maybe it was between flare-ups.)

Auto immune diseases seem to run in my family: my Dad and uncle with RA and Pulmonary Fibrosis (both now deceased) , an aunt with Scleroderma, and my Grandmother had Lupus - all the same bloodline.  I ache continuously and seem to always be tired.  I have gained 25 lbs. in the past year due to changing to a sedentary job.  Any ideas what this foot problem could be?  Thank you.

Hello,
These symptoms can be due to contact dermatitis or pompholyx. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.

For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
