blood blisters

For the past 2-3 years (approximately), I have had small blood blisters on my scrotum that will not go away.  They don't itch or hurt, and they are limited only to the scrotum. As far as I can tell they don't spread by touch. They vary slightly in size, but are very small, the largest no more than 1/16" in diameter with some much smaller.  They have been slowly growing in number over time, from maybe 5 when I first noticed them to over 20 now. From what I can tell the individual blisters stay in the same place, it's not a rash that irritates then reirritates in different places.  I guess my question is, is this something I should be concerned about? Should I see a dermatologist? I read that putting pressure on blood blisters is a way to cure them, but this is kind of a hard area to put pressure on...how would you suggest getting rid of them?

I don't know your age, but middle-aged men get reddish-brown angiofibromas on the scrotum.  These are benign and are of no significance beyond their appearance.  I suppose they could be removed by electrosurgery (cauterizing them off), but I'm not sure it's worth it.  They never bleed, and squeezing them is not a way to get rid of them.

I knew I would forget something...I'm 25, which I wouldn't consider middle aged...and they are blood blisters as I have made the mistake of "popping" one of them which did no good.

In that case, you should show a doctor.  Dr. Rockoff
