blotchy chest when i tan outside and in tanning beds?

whenever i tan, either in a tanning bed or lately out in the sun, everything gets a pretty even tan. execept for my chest. every summer when i lay out and get tan it seems to occur. even in tanning beds in the winter! my legs, stomach, back, and arms get a nice even toned tan. while my chest gets blotchy! the blotches are not that bad, but they are noticeable from up close. from far away my chest just looks tan. its more of a skin discoluration thing but i do not know how to get rid of it! my actual boobs are tan but where they end on top where i have practically no fat starts to get blotchy and discolored. some of the skin is tan and some is not so tan. the blotchyness goes just about to where my armpits are. what is this and how do i fix it? or is this just my natural skin tone saying i shouldnt be getting so tan?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be due to pityriasis versicolor. Pityriasis versicolor (Tinea veriscolor) is a fungal infection caused by commensal yeasts in hot and humid conditions. They may be reddish brown, slightly scaly patches or ugly, depigmented areas that will not tan, especially in suntanned skin. They should be differentiated from seborrheic dermatitis and vitiligo. Selenium sulphide lotion can be applied for around 10-15 minutes, rinsed off and re-applied daily for about a week. It is less messy and preferably easy to use than the Selsun and Ketoconazole shampoos which needs to applied on the patches of affected skin after an evening bath, left to dry the whole night and washed off the next morning. For widespread or stubborn infections, itraconazole tablets have shown good results in curative aspects.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

it's your natural skin tone telling you to stop tanning.
