blue/purple bumps on scrotum

i'm in my late 30's no std's other than herpes simplex. i have developed small blue/purple bumps on my scrotum. no pain, doesn't bother me physically. far as density it kinda looks as if you peppered mashed potatoes. kinda feels like dried pimples. i can almost scratch them off with my fingernail. wondering if this is common as a man gets older or if it's something to be concerned with. does not affect sex or urinating. don't even know that they are there unitl i look. been there a while.

If there are no other urinary symptoms present, this could be Fordyce spots,which presents as  small bright red or purple papules that can appear on the glans (glands), shaft or scrotum. They are abnormally dilated blood vessels, covered by thickened skin. They can be removed by electrocautery. If it persists, have this evaluated for proper diagnosis and management. Avoid manipulating to prevent secondary infection.
