boils grouped together

For the past 6 weeks I have had a series (4 or 5) boils grouped together in the groin area.

They have drained several times, either by friction from my under garments or me popping them.

They do not appear to be going away any time soon.

What is the best way for me to get rid of this problem?

Most groin boils go away on their own.  If yours are hanging around, you may want to talk to a doctor about taking an oral antibiotic.  (Something in the penicillin family works best.)

Meantime, you can wash the area with Hibiclens (antiseptic, non-Rx), and apply bacitracin or neosporin ointment twice daily.  Also don't squezze the boils.

Once there's no further drainiage. the redness will go away on its own, though it may take weeks.

Best.
