bright red dot like birth marks on skin

by tommy 2 tone, Jul 19, 2005 12:00AM
I'm a 55 year old very fair skinned indiviual who has annual skin checkups, and has had several moles removed and forunatly all have been benign. My question is I have these bright red dot like spots that appear on my chest area and some very small ones on my arms and legs and even have couple on my forhead were the last mole was removed by my dermatologist,so I know she has seen them and has never mentioned any concerns, but I have been under alot of stress lately, and have started having some concerns about it again,I last saw my dermatologist in Dec of 2004. They somewhat resemble birth marks.Your imput would be greatly appreciated.

My best guess is that these are cherry angiomas.  These are blood vessel growths that run in families and usually appear on the chest and back primarily.  They mean nothing.  Your doctor must have noticed them.  I suggest you not worry and just check with your doctor.

Best.

Hi....I'll bet they are harmless cherry angiomas....lots of folks have them.....and if you are fair skinned, chances are you are more likely to have them or notice them.  Stress doesn't paly into the diagnosis...age does, sun might, heredity does...think of them as red freckles almost.

I'm only 21, fair skinned, and I've had a few "cherry angiomas" for as long as I can remember on my chest. They just showed up one day and stayed.
