brown skin lesions on legs

by bcm, May 08, 2005 12:00AM
A couple of years ago I developed a small light brown freckle on my leg. It grew for about a year but hasn't changed in the past year.  It is not raised but has a rough almost cracked appearance and does not bleed. It is a little darker brown towards the center. It sort of dimples inward when you push on it.  Also about an inch away from it I have noticed another brown freckle that appears to look like the first. I am wondering what this may be and if I need to get it removed or not. This has been worrying me lately.

It may be a freckle, a mole, or a dermatofibroma.  These are all benign.  For a definite diagnosis, however, you will need to show this to a doctor.  I urge you to do this.

Take care.
