brownish red spots (old age spots) bleeding for know reason

my husbands 50 years old and for some reason he stared developing these little redish marks under his skinon his arms. they look like old age spots well he's had them for awhile but for some reason there starting too break open and
bleed heavily. we first thought mabe he hit or scratched it opened but we now realize there just bleeding for know apparently know reason. we're wondering what this might be.
