bruise with a lump underneath

by bfc7, May 10, 2008 07:30PM
My daughter who is 12 has a bruise on her cheek, a small one, when you touch the bruise it is hard underneath, but no where else on the cheek, the bruise has been there for about a month. The doctor said it was a pimple but it hasn't gone away and it really doesn't look like that. Any help appreciated.

Hi,

When you say bruise, you would say it is discolored? What is the color of the bruise? Is it purplish, black or brown?

If there are no other similar bumps in other parts of the face or in other areas of the body,I do not think this is something that needs immediate intervention.I suggest you take a photo of the bump and keep it for future reference. If it is a pimple ,it should resolve in a few days.

Is the bump tender?

Was it itchy or painful initially?
