Bruising is due to blood that extravasates or leak through the tiny blood vessels or capillaries with or without mechanical injury. It is important to remember that our cells and tissues are living systems. Blood leaks through small spaces or openings between cells from time to time. Our bodies’ built in clotting system plugs the leak to avoid excessive bleeding. When these built in damage control mechanisms fail to  work as expected, then one may observe pinpoint hemorrhages that may result in hematoma formation. However, not all of these are caused by bleeding disorders. Other causes may be varicocities , trauma and certain medications that decrease the action of platelets which are responsible for plugging the leaks.

Are there any other associated symptoms like visual problems, gum bleed or nose bleed?

I suggest that you have a consult done for this if bruises continue to appear  in the absence of trauma.
