bubbling on leg

bubbling on leg

My wife has a patch on her leg---about the size of a quarter---which keeps bubbling with little oozing sores. It seems to be getting better but then little bubbles break through the healing skin and the patch gets red and oozy all over again. We have tried anti-fungal cream and steroid lotion-----both to no real help. Any ideas what this could be and how to fight it?

Hi,

Nothing can be said with surety without having a look at the lesions.

This could be an allergic reaction to some unknown substance or dermatitis or eczema or bacterial skin infection.

She need to wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products and use a medicated sunscreen whenever she goes out.

Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. She could also take oral antihistamine medications for her symptoms if required.

It would be advisable to consult a skin specialist for her symptoms and a proper clinical examination.

Let us know if you need any other information and post us on how she is doing.

Regards.
