bump around the mouth

I have a small bump above my lip and then at night, it became half of its size.  It still there since yesterday.  There seems to be a white dot in the red bump.  No pain, no irritation, no tingling, etc... Do you think it might be herpes or acne?  I've been pulling hair around my upper lip and maybe that might have something to do with it.

No they don’t sound like cold sores but can be due to irritated hair follicles. Keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.
