bump on base of penis

by eoth1280, May 07, 2004 12:00AM
Hi. i have an irritated pea-sized bump on the base of my penis where it meets the scrotum. i had this bump a year ago for about three months and it went away. The bump has returned and has begun to be irritated and itchy at times.  I have had the bump for about three months now and seems to not want to go away. I was wondering what it could possibly be? I am thinking it could be either an ingrown hair, a cyst, or wart. Is there anything i can do to get rid of this? Would a doctor be able to remove it fairly painlessly?  thanks.

It's probably a cyst.  These fill up with fluid and therefore can fluctuate in size.  Although they can be removed, it's hardly ever worth it, unless the cyst is very large and in the way.  I suggest you show it to a dermatologist, so you can find out for sure what it is, and decide whether taking it off is worth doing.

Best.
