An initial assessment with a urologist will be able to exclude involvement of underlying structures.
How would you describe this bump?
How large is this?
Is it soft or hard?
Is it painful? Is there redness in the area?
Differentials will be a superficial skin infection, varicoceles, hydroceles and a testicular mass. These are just differentials and should not really cause much alarm as they are just pointed out to guide which tests to use.
A solitary red bump on the scrotum in the absence of penile discharge and enlarged nodes in the groin area and the absence of a significant sexual history may suggest a superficial skin infection.
At this point, you may need to have this assessed by a urologist. This does not sound urgent. You may need oral antibiotics for this. A cystic mass is usually fluctuant or a little soft. With the way your described the lesion this seems to be more superficial rather than something which involves deeper structures.
A complete physical examination will help. Since this is related to your case, are you sexually active? If yes, blood tests to rule out underlying infections may be necessary.
yes i am some what sexually active, not steadly though, i think im going to make a doctors apt on monday, but in your opnion you dont think it is anything to serious?
You have described it to be red and sore and pimple like. This would suggest an infection and at this point, I feel it is a superficial skin infection.
I do not think it is something serious. Though I would still suggest that you have this checked and evaluated by a dermatologist or urologist. A complete physical examination will be able to help and if indicated a scrotal ultrasound may be done.
At this point, I advise that you do not worry so much. Wash the area with a mild and bland soap and wear underpants of light material.
This bump in you scrotum may actually be normal structures within the scrotum. Some individuals who seldom do testicular examination may palpate lumps and bumps that may actually be benign and normal structures. However ,this still warrants further evaluation.
