Hello Doctor...
Here's my problem. I have two separate conditions which may or may not be related.
1. I've shaved my

panicPanic disorder
Panic disorder with agoraphobia a bit. There has been itching- maybe a bit more than usual, but I usually itch when I shave. I know herpes blisters appear in clusters- there were about 4 that were very close together. Perhaps my imagination is overactive.
2. There is a bump on top of my penis near the base that seems to be getting larger. It is basically behaving like a pimple. It does not hurt or itch, except for the mild pressure associated with large pimples. The reason it scares me is that I know I've had another bump like it at one point in the past, pretty close to the same site.
The fact that these two conditions have occurred at the same time also scares me. It sounds a little like herpes to me, although there is no pain, and now that some hair has grown back, there is no itching.
First I tried an antifungal powder spray on the blisters for a week, in case it was a fungus. Nothing happened. I then used some hydrocortisone cream for a few days. Nothing happened. Finally, out of panic, I ordered a bottle of choraphor and applied it to the blisters and the bump. Nothing has happened. The blisters have gradually been getting smaller and harder, during the course of all my self-treatment. They are no longer clear but they are still present. No particular method has worked better than the others. I just tried popping the bump. I was able to squeeze some puss out of it, but I squeezed as hard as I could without hurting myself and nothing came out. It's pretty resiliant. It's still very large and red, and now a bit unsightly from the attempt to sqeeze it. I've just started using a clearasil 10% benzyl peroxide cream on it. There is still no itching or pain. Should I get tested for herpes just to be safe, or does this sound like something that I'm overreacting about way too much? I've had this for well over a week now- maybe two weeks.
Thanks,
chris
