bump on tip of penis

by larry02135, Nov 17, 2006 12:00AM
I am a 37 year old male and about 4 years ago a 2mm bump appeared on the left edge of my urethra. The bump causes my urethra opening to have a slight half moon look which causes me to temporarily have a "split" stream when I urinate. The bump is sometimes a dark reddish purple and other times almost skin color but is always there.  That side of my penis head is slightly swollen (hard to tell unless you look very closely).  About 4 weeks before it appeared I had unprotected sex with an aquaintance I didn't know that well.  She assured me afterwards that she was clean and had been tested shortly before we were together.  I have never had any other symptoms, ie: pain, discomfort, discharges.

I showed my family doctor about 6 months ago and he said it was nothing to worry about. No tests were done.

Another note is I have always have problems with acne and cysts.  Could this be 1) some form of acne, 2) a cyst (cancerous) or 3) an STD?

Any insight would be appreciated.

No, no, and no.

It's probably a small irregularity in your penile anatomy.  If it's interfering with your stream, you should consult a urologist about removing it, though from your description that hardly seems likely.

Best.

I read my post and some points I mentioned may not be real clear. Just to clarify the bump is abour 2mm in diameter on the left side of the penis head at the urethra opening.
