bump

Hi Dr.  I have this bump on my pubic area.  It appeared after wearing nylons one night. It appears to look like a white head.  To touch it it feels like a bump with a hard little ball inside.  It doesn't really hurt.  I have had it for two days now.  It doesn't really look like a blister, more like a pimple.  I have noticed one other one before in a different area, it went away after a couple of days.  I didn't really pay attention to it, thought it was just a pimple.  Any ideas on what this is.   Your help is greatly appreciated.

Lynn:

It sounds like a cyst or blocked follicle.  Both these are common in the pubic region.  They have no significance, and are best ignored.  Next time you go for a physical, show your doctor, just to be sure.

Best.
