bumps on inner thigh

by kord313, Jul 14, 2008 10:00PM
Hello, for a couple of weeks now i have been having these irrtating bumps on my inner thighs. the bumps are in the area where my scrotum rubs up against my my thigh. I have a hunch that it may have something to do with the soap i was using that contains menthol. but what makes me halt that hunch is the fact, if i were having some sort of allergic reaction, wouldnt i break out other places???? so i stopped using the soap and bough some medicated extra strength powder to ease the irrtaion. it worked but now the bumps are back. now i discover the medicated powder also contains menthol. i bought some neutrogena body clear body wash and is about to give the soap a week to see any results. i'm going to stop using the medicated powder and just use some gentle baby powder to ease the irrtation.
Any ideas on what this could be??? bumps are flesh colored, i guess they itch but i never scratch. Any suggestions on how i can ease the irrtation??? PLEASE SOMEONE LET ME KNOW QUICKLY. i just recently switched to a new employment group and is waiting for my insurance policy to get started so i can get checked out, but this will not be effecttive until Aug. So anyone that can help me i will be ever so grateful! thanks in advance.

Hi,
Bumps in the groin area that itch are usually due to a fungal infection of the skin folds.
Tinea cruris is the name for fungal infection of the groin region, which causes itching or a burning sensation in the groin area, thigh skin folds, or anus.

A warm, damp environment allowing the fungus to thrive in skin folds especially in hot, humid weather.
The rash may appear red, tan, or brown, with flaking, rippling, peeling, or cracking skin, assocaiated with an itchy feeling.

Anti-fungal creams containing tolnaftate, clotrimazole or miconazole can be applied on the area of rash.To cure the infection naturally, keep moist and warm areas of the body clean and dry. Talcum powder may be used for this purpose.

Same problem from hot humid weather here but after using the clotrimazole I now have what appearss to be a ingrown hair in the same general area (upper thigh meeting groin area).  Does this sound normal?
