can you have scabies and not show symptoms?

I have not discovered the source of my scabies infestation and I am worried I will perpetually be reinfected by someone with the infestation but who does not show symptoms. Is this possible? my doc dais it was and really the itching was not a universal allergic reaction - some people have it , and some don't.

I am freaked out about how to get rid of this stuff, HELP!

i am not sure where I got it from. No one I am living with nor any women I have slept with have shown symptoms. I want to figure out where it came from so I don't get reinfected thinking all is safe...

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi.

Scabetic lesions are symptomatic and they may present with redness and irritation on the surface. They manifest as linear redness or dermatitis. The itch scratch cycle may present with ulcerations or excoriations. Scabetic infections may be acquired through direct skin to skin contact and through contact with inanimate objects.

Would you say that you have been previously exposed with someone who had this? I suggest that you try to wash your linens and avoid sharing personal belonging with anyone. Wash your laundry separately and keep them on your own laundry bag. Do not mix clothes or linens.

Itchiness is usually characteristic of this skin condition. If itching is not manifest, this may be due to the minor areas involved eg webs between fingers. However, in majority of cases itchiness or pruritus is present.
