TY.....YOU WERE VERY HELPFUL
Hi
A red rash in infants may be dermatitis. This is relatively common especially in the form of contact dermatitis. Hives and sweat rash may also be differentials here. Contact dermatitis may be due to certain triggers. They may be raised and red. They may also be weeping. Hives are itchy and they may be secondary to an underlying allergen like food, pollen and dust. A sweat rash may red and raised and they may occur in covered areas of the body. These may be any of the above. At this point,a red rash may also be infectious. The presence of a fever, eye redness, enlarged nodes in the body may actually signify a viral infection .This does not seem to be your child's case.
Continue to observe the rash. Application of 1% hydrocortisone cream thinly over the rash and see if it responds may be able to help. It is important to ask your doctor about steroid creams before application Never apply in broken or infected skin. If this is viral it should resolve spontaneously as not all viral infections in children may present typically with fever and other associated symptoms.
