circular red rash

Hi, my husband has had a raised circular red rash spread up and down his right arm for about 4 months now. At first they tried to say it was ringworm, so we tried hydrocortisone creams and triple antibiotic ointment, antibiotic medicine. Does anyone else know what else it could be? We were looking it up online and it kind of looked like shingles but I didn't think shingles lasted this long, plus he hasn't had any other symptoms. He just said it itches and hurts.
Thanks,
Michaelia

No it doesnt look like lyme. It has small puss like looking bumps in it. Itwill look like its starting to go away for a couple of days, and the dr prescribed hydrocortisone 2.0 or somthing and he puts it on numerous times a day and it seems to only be getting worse. It has not spread to anything else besides that one arm. Even if like I touch it or whatever, it hasn't gotten on me..yet. We were just trying to make sure that it wasnt anything really simple before spending big money on a derm since we do not have health insurance.
Thanks so much,
Mk

Shingles can last years.

Does is resemble the bull's eye rash that is typical with Lyme's Disease?

My daughter has a circular rash on her legs/arms that I thought was ringworm too, but when I took her to the dermatologist she was diagnosed with atopic dermatitis.

A trip to the derm. sounds like a good idea and hopefully a prescription cream with do the trick.

Good luck and take care!!
