cold sore infection

Hi, i was recently out to dinner with a friend who i know has cold sores. Not thinking i let them have a sip of my glass of wine and then took a sip myself a few minutes later.  I then noticed they had a bump on their lip that looked like a pimple. After i noticed it i didnt take any more sips of the wine.  Whate are the chances i caught a coldsore from a sip of wine sharing?

Hi,
I contacted Herpes virus approximately a year ago.Since then I had only one breakout. But 5 days ago I had another one in the area between my nose and upper lip.I think this was not because of cold or fever, but because I depilated my mustache with wax, and maybe i tore off too hard. After 2 days I had the cold sores. The problem is that now, after 4 days, I took off the crust that was formated becase I wanted to get rid of it.I have a red skin area and I don't know if Aciclovir or tetracycline is good for it at this stage. Please tell me what to do.

I think you have nothing to worry about.

Very very small.  I wouldn't worry about it, even if it was a cold sore.  It may have been just a pimple.

The incubation period for catching herpes is about 5 days, so if a week has passed, I wouldn't worry at all.

Take care.

I know that a large number of the population has been exposed to hsv1 but blood tests in the past have always come up negative and i'm paranoid about this brief risk even though i would think it's an extremely minute chance... what do you think doc?
