concern over having gentital warts

concern over having gentital warts

I am a 31 year old white male living in the US. I had unprotected oral sex with a black female on May 4th of 2010. I performed oral sex on her. We also had condom protected vaginal sex. About a month prior, I received unprotected oral sex from her. I have tested negative for HIV, gonorrhea, and syphilis. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed what looked like a skin tag located in the upper region of my inner thigh almost in the crease where my leg connects to my groin. It is a loose flappy piece of skin and it will turn red when it is irritated by clothing. It is the same color as my skin and is just hanging. It is very thin. I think that it started out before my sexual encounter as what appeared to be a light brown mole, but it looks more like a skin tag now. My fear is that this is a genital wart, but doesn't have the appearance of a wart. I am a married male and have only had sex with her and this other female in the last 5 years. I have had sex with my wife since the encounter on May 4th. What does this sound like? It looks as if it is just hanging by a thin piece of skin

Also, recently, I have noticed two small bumps that resemble pimples or a clogged hair follicle. There are two total (1 on each side). They are both located in about the same spot which is above the groin, almost to the pelvic bone. Should I be worried that I caught genital warts? The woman I was with said she could prove to me that she is clean by her doctor reports. She has frequent pap smears due to them finding precancerous/cancerous cells.

Welcome to the Dermatology Expert Forum!

Based on information you provided, very likely it is not a genital wart (caused by HPV) but skin tag (benign tumor). Your dermatologist will remove it, send it for histopathological analysis, and results will remove any uncertainty.

Two small, pimple-like “bumps” you mentioned sound like folliculitis.

FYI - Pap smear (Papanicolau test) is a gynecological screening test for precancerous and cancerous processes in the cervix. On the other hand, the HPV DNA testing is recommended to confirm or exclude the HPV infection.

I actually had 4 different places on my genitals. I had 2 in the crease where the leg meets the groin. One was next to testicles in the crease and the other was the one I mentioned before in the upper groin. I had one right above the penis in the lower abdomen and one on my left upper groin region. My doctor has removed all of them and he said that all of them looked like skin tags except for the one i mentioned in the previous thread. I think that it came before my sexual encounter and the only woman i have been with other than the one in May is my wife. Can skin tags start out as what looks like a raised light brown mole and then change into flappy piece of skin? He said he thought it was a wart, but not an std wart. He said not all genital warts are std's. I am panicking waiting on the results.

The one above my penis in the pubic area and the one to my left in the crease of my groin looked like pieces of skin sticking straight up from the skin surface. I was shaving in that area when I noticed them and they bled. With both, you could take the small piece of flesh and move it back and forth.
