couple with small genital warts

couple with small genital warts

Hey i was just wondering if two partners have the same strand of HPV, can they spread more warts to eachother from contact with the others small warts or re exposure to infected areas during sex? or once you have had the strain for about 6 months does the possibility outbreaks have nothing to do with more contact? We've been dating for over a year and a half and have both had a couple small warts come and go for about 6 months but all seems well now.

thanks!

From my understanding once the body becomes immune to an HPV type, reinfection is highly unlikely. Of course if you both have different HPV types you will infect each other, but this should only last until you are both immune to the same set of HPV types. So things should balance out over a period of time and possibly get a few wart infections. Once this happens the body's immune system sort of remembers the HPV types that you both have and fights off new infections automatically.
