cyst on skull

my hubby has gotten a cyst on his skull - rear crown. It was hurting so he drained it twice. Last night he asked me to do it. I was surprized as it had several cc of "yucky" stuff in it, but what got me was that I could feel an actual hole(?) has formed in his skull where it is...when I pushed down I could feel the rim on his skull. do cyst's degenerate the skull?
