dandruff and hairloss

by FRYE, Dec 23, 1999 12:00AM
Hi I'm twenty five years old and a few months ago I began showing signs of male pattern hairloss. Now About that same time I started experiencing a problem with dandruff. I never had a problem with dandruff before in my life and all the commercial shampoos I've tried don't seem to get rid of it. Anyway, my question is that I was wandering if my hairloss and dandruff problem might be connected somehow. Also I was wandering if there are any diseases or common vitamin difficiencies that could be causing this problem. Basically is there anything really bad I should be worried about?

Frye:

Good questions.  The answer is that enither dandruff nor vitamin deficiency has anything to do with your hair loss.  Feel free to deal with the dandruff with medicated shampoos, etc, but doing that won't affect hair loss one way or another.

Not to worry.

Best.
