dark spots under site of benign mole removed

dark spots under site of benign mole removed

My daughter, age 22, had a supicious mole removed/shaved from her back two months ago.  Her dermatlogist said pathology reported the mole was benign.  The tissue below, where the mole was located, is dark and spotted.
Is this normal or should we be concerned?

Hello,

If the pathology biopsy report has come out to be benign then it is unlikely that the biopsy report is false negative. Keep an eye on this spot. If you notice changes in the mark’s color, height, size or shape, you should have a dermatologist evaluate it. You also should have it checked if it bleeds, oozes, itches, appear scaly, or become tender or painful.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
