daughter is sick

Hi my daughter is 2 years old with some disabilities and never diagnosted. She has a gj tube with a Unnisan fundiplication. She can't talk acept say momma or dadda once in a while and she can't sit up yet on her own. She sometimes gets sick, and now is one of those times. but she has been getting a flat rash spiraticaly all over her body... but it comes when shes gagging than starts to go away.... we thought she had a reaction to penisullin so the doctor had us stop it. Now they have me giving her benadryl for the next 24 hours to see if it goes away and doesn't come back. Does anyone have any ideas about all of this?

Hello,
Such a rash which comes and goes is usually due to hives due to a viral infection or some medications. Penicillin can be one of the culprit if she has recently started one.

You can  give her some antihistaminic like benadryl or Claritin. She may also need topical and oral steroids which are available under prescription. Also make her wear cotton clothes.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
