delayed hypersensitivity drug reaction, fixed drug reaction, or something entirely different?

18 months ago I was put on wellbutrin for depression.{ I have nerve and vascular damage in R arm x 10 years, causing chronic pain.}  I was and am on on Neurontin 800mg TID, Elavil 150mg po qhs, Armour thyroid 60mg qid for Hashimoto's throiditis, Sular 10mg BID-for vasospasms in arm. I am still on all these.

Within a few days, I started having severe pruritis of palms and soles, this spread to entire body. Stopped med, took benadryl.  It didn't subside. I became dermagraphic, developed rash, and became a lovely shade of red. I have been on oral steroids, topical cortizone, atopiclar, protopic, Xyzal 5mg qd, Atarax 5mg q8, Tagamet 300mg bid.
It is difficult enough to have chronic pain without this!!
My docs disagree. Dermatologist says it is delayed hypersensitivity drug reaction and there is no way of knowing when it will go away, pain specialist says fixed drug reaction, but why hasn't  a biopsy been done? Psychiatrist/pain specialist says fixed drug reaction would have gone away by now. My primary wants me to wean off all my meds and start doxepin hcl 50mg, and lyrica 75mg instead. My pain doc says don't start new drugs if trying to check if old drugs are contributing to reaction. My Psychiatrist/pain specialist says absolutely donot wean off all meds especially the Celaxa which I've taken for the last17months. She says, I have been on Neurontin and Elavil for 10 years and I could have a severe reaction even if weaned. She also feels the level of pain would be difficult for me. She can't see them being the cause, but if I am going to follow other docs suggestions, wean one at a time. Don't stop the Celexa and don't introduce any new drugs while weaning. She would only wean a pt off all meds if they were admitted.

Can a drug reaction really last 18months? That seems to be everyone one's question/doubt, except the DERM. Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing anyone they are all top notch docs here in miami. But, before I put myself thru the pain of weaning drugs, especially neurontin and elavil, which help the pain from the neuropathy, can a drug reaction last 18 months despite treatment????

Couldn't it be something else and it was a coincidence, or it has progressed?
I think I need a real old time "Diagnostician".  I'm an RN :}   Look at everything happening with me, ie; hairloss, possible myxoid on palmer surface of index finger, ridges on fingernails. Do certain blood work--? biopsy? Since, I started this letter, I noticed the rash I have, in the outer corner of my eyes is spreading along the eyelash line of both upper and lower eyelids. I have already taken Xycal, atarax, tagamet today. It must be something else?!

Any thoughts?

Appreciate your time and help.
