diagnostic testing

3 months ago I had a biopsy on a suspicious blue/black 3mm slightly raised round spot on my leg.  The biopsy came back as the derm. said a "completely benign solar lentigo."  My concern is that I had the right diagnostic test.  He did a shave biopsy.  He apologized afterwards saying that he had to go deeper than what he thought.  The lesion did appear to be under the skin.  The derm. went on to say I may need to come back for a punch biopsy.  1 week later I received a call saying the lesion was completely benign and it was a solar lentigo.  The lesion has healed great leaving a red circle that blanches with a little bit of the blue/black color.  My concern is that it feels like a little bump.  I don't know if it is from the biopsy being deep and is just healing.  I guess my question is do you think the shave biopsy was enough to detect melanoma even though the lesion appeared under the skin?  Should I seek further treatment or was the biopsy sufficient?
